Do I need mesh WiFi?
If your broadband is fast at the router but slow upstairs, in the kitchen or in the garden, the problem is usually WiFi coverage, not your broadband. That's where mesh WiFi helps.
What is mesh WiFi?
A mesh system uses two or more units (often called discs) placed around your home. They work together as one network, so your devices automatically connect to the strongest signal as you move around.
Signs you need it
- Rooms where WiFi drops or buffers.
- Three or more bedrooms, or a long or multi-storey home.
- Thick stone or brick walls, or an extension.
- A garden office or loft room.
Mesh vs WiFi booster
A booster (extender) repeats your router's signal into one area. It's cheaper but often halves the speed and creates a separate network. Mesh gives seamless coverage across the whole home and holds speed much better.
How many discs?
- Flat or 1-2 bedrooms: usually the router alone, or one booster.
- 3-4 bedrooms: a 2-disc mesh system.
- 5+ bedrooms or thick walls: 3 discs.
Cooper can add mesh WiFi to your broadband order at checkout.
